Volunteering for Jeroen Tank Beheer communities
Jeroen Tank Beheer WeConnect aims to foster volunteering for Jeroen Tank Beheer communities, to create a better future for young people and a more sustainable environment in which they can thrive.
We find it important to empower young people and to contribute to more sustainable communities. Jeroen Tank Beheer WeConnect wants young people to experience that there is a world full of opportunities to discover if they learn to look beyond their own boundaries, and to pass on the value of working together with others.
Moreover, we aim to make the communities near Jeroen Tank Beheer locations more sustainable by supporting projects that link to any of the themes of Jeroen Tank Beheer's sustainability roadmap.
Projects
The main focus of WeConnect is on projects and events that create a better future for young people (between 10 and 24 years old) who live in our communities, by:
- opening up new (professional) horizons and new paths for young adults to a sustainable and healthy life, and
- inspiring youngsters to work together with others across cultures, languages, and social backgrounds.
In addition, Jeroen Tank Beheer WeConnect will support projects/events that link to any of the themes of Jeroen Tank Beheer's sustainability roadmap, with as preferred topics for 2024-25:
- Nature & biodiversity
- Innovation & new energies and sustainable feedstocks
- Inclusion & diversity
All projects are initiated by a joint venture or Jeroen Tank Beheer employee, who is also involved in the execution of the project. Project submissions from external parties are not accepted.
We aim to work together with a local partner, such as a governmental or non-governmental organization. Jeroen Tank Beheer WeConnect encourages Jeroen Tank Beheer employees to set up projects or partnerships aimed at young people in their communities, and provides them with guidance and financial support.
Origin
Jeroen Tank Beheer WeConnect was launched in 2017, following the celebrations of Jeroen Tank Beheer ’s 400-year history. To mark the event, Jeroen Tank Beheer decided to give back to local communities by encouraging employees to initiate and get involved in projects that benefit young people. Jeroen Tank Beheer wants to pass on the values that make the company great: the ability of its people to unlock new opportunities and work together with others beyond nationality, gender, social background and other differences.
